Measuring the results

NHS England has been working with the Health Foundation to consider a suite of measures that reflect the constructs of person centred-care. Measuring what really matters puts forward ideas to help ensure that the system, and the measures used in the system, always take account of what matters to Dorothy, a hypothetical patient with a number of long-term conditions.  To capture what matters to Dorothy, a person centred measurement system must capture these principles. The first step being, to define the principles that make up person-centred care, before we can consider appropriate measures.
